The mythical Café André Located a few steps from the McGill University campus, Café André was a small restaurant-bar that was open in the 1960s and 1970s. It attracted mainly students from the neighborhood.
During the folk music frenzy of the early 1960s, Café André featured many folk musicians. One of the regulars, who boasted many admirers, was Penny Lang, the Canadian folk music icon who was nicknamed “Grey Wolf”. Around 1967, with the end of the folk craze, Café André turned from pure folk to folk-rock.
