St. Antoine Street Paradise

An evening with soul legend Skipper Dean!

Thursday February 15, 7 – 9 p.m. (doors 6 p.m.) free

@ Afromusée, 533 Ontario E.

From Rockhead’s Paradise to the Harlem Paradise, from the Alberta Lounge to Café St-Michel and beyond, St. Antoine Street was hopping from the 1930s to the 80s.

Join legendary Montreal soul and rnb singer Skipper Dean for a journey through the neighborhood and the decades of the 60s, 70s and 80s. The presentation will feature a wealth of archival documents bringing this rich era to life.

In conversation with Montreal historian Louis Rastelli, followed by a bilingual question period.

The stories coming out of this discussion will be added to the blog on this website after the event. In the meantime, share and follow the project on IG: @nightsof_mtl_lanuit.

A co-production between ARCMTL and Afromusée, made possible thanks to the support of Montreal and Quebec via the programme Patrimoine Montréalais : une mise en valeur dans les quartiers de la Ville de Montréal.
